Kai-Tea: Episkey Tea!!

Episkey Tea: The episkey spell is used to heal small injuries. When it is cast, the person feels the place of injury get hot and then cold and it was first seen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This tea is meant to aid in minor ailments as well as heating you up and calming you down. It will also help to spark your creativiTEA!!

Ingredients:
For this tea you will need some loose herbs that can usually be found fairly cheap at your local natural foods store. Those herbs include: elderberry, lavender, chamomile, rose hips, and peppermint. To sweeten it you can use sugar or honey. For this particular blend I prefer sugar and lemon.

Directions:

First add a larger base of the chamomile into  your infuser.
*Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory, an anti-viral, and it can help calm you down*

Then, put equal parts elderberry, and rose hips.
*Elderberry and Rose Hips are both anti-viral*

Next, and a very small amount of the lavender and peppermint to your mixtre.
*Lavender is an anti-inflammatory, an anti-viral, and is used as a way to calm you down. Peppermint helps to open the sinuses and leaves that cool feeling in your mouth and throat*

Now all you need to do is to drop your infuser into your cup, add hot water, and steep for 3-5 minutes.
*Steeping times may vary slightly depending on the heat of the water and the amount of water used*

Finally, you sweeten it up and add a little bit of lemon.
*If you are looking for help with a soar throat or drainage, use local honey and lemon. The honey, if local, will have very small amounts of some of the allergens you find in your area. When introduced into your system, the honey give your body the opportunity to build up an immunity to the allergens in it. The acid in the lemon will burn off some of the mucus on your throat and will help relieve some of the pain and coughing caused by  it.*

You can always change the proportions depending on personal preference and you can leave out ones you don't like.**My general rule for recipe modifications, however, is that I follow it exactly the first time I make it, than I will make changes from there.**

I AM NOT A  DOCTOR and you should always make sure you do not have an allergy to any of the ingredients before using them!! If you want to see a very detailed list of all the uses for these herbs, search them on WebMD!
